The cross-country season has officially begun. That seems a little strange to say since the boys have actually been training literally the entire summer. They have been so diligent about getting up every morning at 7:00 am so they could run with their teammates. I know that the hard work and dedication is going to pay off. We had a team dinner at the house the night before the first race in Hopi. Here we go again, Sand Devils!

Temple Time
We got to go to the temple with Corbin as he prepares to serve his mission to Provo in just a few more weeks. We love the temple and are so grateful to be able to serve and receive blessings there!

Shenanigans in Shades
Drake is back in the same stake as Skip and Laurene. He managed to get over for one last visit before he comes home in just a couple months. Drake even got to see his cousin Jack who just returned from a mission to Japan. My favorite is the pose with the solar eclipse glasses. Aren't they handsome missionaries!

Back to School and Braces
Another school year has arrived, and we are down to just two students. Rex is officially joining the world of high school as a freshman, and Bowen has moved into the upper class as a junior. Corbin has been spending his summer working hard down in Antelope Canyon as a tour guide, so these two are on their own.
After school, Rex also had the pleasure of getting braces. Here's to another great year ahead!

Called to Serve
We had many discussions about when Corbin would submit his mission papers. For me, one of the factors was the possibility that he won't see his brother Drake who is currently in the field until October. Corbin insisted that he didn't want to wait, but was ready to go right away, even if it meant that he and Drake would not cross paths. He did all of the paperwork, the interviews, the doctor's appointments, wisdom teeth removal, and then waited. After the initial submission, Corbin got a note that his application wouldn't be completed with the picture he sent in. His hair was too long (just over his ears)! We quickly took a new picture (post haircut) and sent it in again. On August 1st, Corbin received his call to serve. My mom heart is brimming.
