Happy Fathers' Day to My Men

Since I just posted a picture of Theo and I on our wedding day 17 years ago, I thought it would be fun to post some pictures of Theo being a father to our 4 boys through the last 15 years. On July 2nd, 1997, Drake arrived and made Theo a father. In the ensuing years we added Corbin, Bowen, and Rex to our family. It has been a non-stop thrill ride.

Here is a shout out to Allen, Theo's dad, for showing him how to be a father and a man. And a HUGE thanks to my own dad for teaching me what to look for in a husband who would father my own children. I love all the wonderful men in my life! Happy Fathers' Day!

Going the Distance

Corbin entered his first 10K. This was a local race that was held on a beautiful Saturday morning. Since this was the first time that Corbin had run this distance, he was a little unsure. He did a great job getting out fast, and he hung in there for the long 6.2 miles. He ended up in first place for his age division (10-14), and he was 8th overall with a time of 46:20.
Taking off with the leaders

Coming through the halfway mark

Finishing strong
Way to go Corbin! We are so proud of you!!

Proud Parent

With this being a presidential election year, and with the added excitement factor of having the Republican (presumptive) nominee being a Mormon, I thought I would share this post I wrote on Ross Promontory in 2008.

Corbin reported something from Primary yesterday that gave Theo and I a good belly laugh; although, I hope it isn't a poor reflection on our parenting skills. Apparently the Primary president asked the kids who the prophet is. Our normally shy (bordering on mute in public forums) little Rex raised his hand. When she called on him his response was......wait for it.....MITT ROMNEY!!!! Jinkies!

Just into June

We purchased a whole bunch of plants Saturday and raced to get them all into the ground before a big thunderstorm hit. Hopefully, they will all survive the harsh Amarillo wind and summer heat that has already arrived.
